Optional: ENB

This section is entirely optional. ENB adds a lot to the appearance of a game but can, depending on your settings, cause your FPS to take a hit. There are ENB presets that take this into account, and in this case we will be using a preset that has a variety of quality vs performance options.

  1. Download the latest ENB version (http://enbdev.com/download_mod_tesskyrimse.htm)
  2. Download "I. Re-Engaged ENB for Cathedral Weathers (ENB Weather Supported) V9.4i" from the files section of SkyrimSE Re-Engaged ENB (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1089)
  3. Open the ENB zip file and go into the "Wrapper" folder
  4. Copy ONLY d3d11.dll d3dcompiler_46e.dll into your Skyrim game folder
  5. Open the Cathedral Weathers ENB archive and go into the main folder inside the archive. You should see a series of numbered folders
  6. Go into the "1. Main File (Install)" folder and decide which quality version you want. It's okay start with the highest quality. If you change your mind you can simply replace it with a different quality. The files are the same and will be overwritten. The "Quality Version (Good Image)" choice is likely your best option
  7. Go into the folder of the version you want and extract the contents into your Skyrim game folder. You should be copying:
    • enbcahce folder
    • enbseries folder
    • enblocal.ini
    • enbseries.ini
  8. For extra settings and information, see the "Installation Steps" section at https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1089?tab=description
I have an ENB preset of my own that I created with the exact setup in this guide as my base. If you want to check it out, it's on this page along with installation instructions. It takes about 5-10 off your FPS.
